Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

On a brisk, sunny morning, ran 7.5 miles with Joe at an average pace of 8:40/mile around the Two Rivers Park and part of the way towards the Big Dam Bridge.  Joe was getting text message updates on Jacob Wells, who had a heart attack at mile 20 in the Mid-South Marathon, after completing the first half in around 1:35:00.  Then took a two hour nap and went to LA Fitness where I ran 10 miles in 77:20 (7:44/mile) on the TM, with the last 7 miles in 52:20.  Finished with a 0.1 mile cool down.

Ran 19.3 miles with Joe and Super Dave along the 3B26 course in the Run for Jacob, a tribute to Jacob Wells who died on Thursday.  It was a cool morning (38 degrees), but warmed up to around 49 degrees when we finished.  Super Dave and I made this an easy run and Joe ran as hard as he could as we averaged 9:19/mile.  Approximately 170 people ran in this event this morning, and Bill Torrey did a wonderful job organizing the run and setting out water and Gatorade along the route.

Ran 6.9 miles at Catholic HS.  Since I have early stage shin splints, I took it easy.  Ran 3.9 miles at 7:29/mile, and 3 miles at 8:50/mile.  Ran with some of the slower folks in the running group and had a great time.

A.M.:  Ran 6 miles in 45:50 at Scott Field on a beautiful 52 degree sunny morning.  Ran the first 2-miles at 8 min/mile, and ran miles 5 and 6 at 7:00 and 7:15 to stretch out muscles.   Jogged a 0.25 mile lap to cool down.  This was my first run this week, so I didn't want to push it to hard.  While I haven't been running, I have been counting calories burned on the stationary bike and elliptical machine, averaging 1100 calories burned each day since Sunday.

P.M.:  Ran 2 miles on the TM at LA Fitness as well as 20 mins on the elliptical.  Ran the 2-miles in 16:07.

Ran 3-miles this afternoon on the TM at an average 8:30/mile pace.  Then jogged slowly for 1-mile.  This was the best run without lower leg pain that I have had in two weeks.

Also, ran 1 mile on Sunday which really hurt, and 1 mile on Monday night with a little less pain.

Ran 3.5 easy miles on the TM at LA Fitness.  Lower tibia was a little sore after the run.  Will try at least a couple of miles tomorrow.

Also, ran 1 mile on the TM at home on Thanksgiving.  Continue to burn an average of 1100 calories per day on various types of fitness equipment.
